Tutorial with Sian 27/2/20

Yesterdays tutorial with Sian mainly covered the issues i am still having with my creative CV. Although going through it last week i later realised the process we used didn’t actually work so i wanted to show her the issue and talk about any other ways we could rectify this. Throughout our session we played with the file and image size and also downloaded Adobe Acrobat. Once i have finished creating my postcard and CV for our student lead deadline on thursday 5th March i will start to play around with these new ideas.

In relation to my current project we spoke about some ideas Helen gave me in my last tutorial and how i could create these. Now in our 7th week this is the first time i have felt any sort of pressure and although i am glad as i was getting bored of being on top of things, i am finding it hard to visualise how i can create all these elements. After flicking through my sketchbook Sian suggested to use the liquify tool experiments to create the textures of my trees. This is something i had not thought of; however, i feel could work quite well. I think the first piece of additional imagery i will work with is a tree as i now have some ideas for it.

As well as this idea she also mentioned to reflect back on my work from first year as this could also provide some inspiration. I think this is a really good idea as my first year work was constructed using very simple elements which i could easily create.

Along side reflecting back on my first year work i think i also really need to reflect back on my research. I done what i felt to be a good amount and i feel there will be some inspiration imbedded in these. When creating my trees i will reflect back on this research to see what inspiration i can find in relation to shape, form and composition.

Overall i feel i really need to take this process one step at a time and realise the amount of time i do have before our thursday deadline. In total i have four days which i can totally dedicate to developing my illustrations alongside time after workshops. I feel if i am just working on one element at a time rather than be thinking about all the designs i have to produce this will help me to focus and produce at least one design i am proud of.
